McLarens opens real estate-focused office

Loss adjuster McLarens has opened a dedicated real estate office and recruited a number of senior specialists to support its plans in the sector.

The office, located in Chelmsford, will serve as a hub for the loss adjuster’s London market, UK-wide and pan-European real estate and property investor work.

The move follows the appointment of Vicky Jewell (pictured), who recently joined McLarens as head of real estate. Jewell has been brought in to oversee the expansion of the loss adjuster’s UK and pan-Europe real estate teams.

McLarens has also expanded its real estate team with the recruitment of Nicky Parker as a senior account handler and Stacey Lane as an account handler. Both have more than 20 years of insurers and loss adjusters.

Jewell said: “The nature of real estate work—which can include varied portfolios of assets and complex chains of stakeholders—requires a high level of knowledge, expertise and relationship management skills. Our team provides exactly that capability and our new Chelmsford hub signifies our strong commitment to this sector.”

David Walker, executive director of McLarens, said of the new office and hires: “Real estate work has always been a key area of expertise for us, both within the UK and globally, and our existing team had created an excellent foundation to build upon.”

“However, we saw considerable growth potential in the current market and sought a recognised industry leader to take us to the next level. I am delighted that Vicky has joined us to do exactly that and I have no doubt that our expanded team will take no time at all to make its mark in this sector.”
