Aviva, the Chartered Insurance Institute and Broker Direct have joined new trade group Insurtech UK.
They join the 50+ strong membership of insurtech startups and other associate members and partners of the group, which informally launched in November 2018.
Hotwire, Browne Jacobson, Wells Tobias Group and PKF Littlejohn have also recently joined Insurtech UK. The group is focusing on helping insurtechs navigate challenges that startups face in building successful and innovative businesses within the UK insurance market.
Other associate members and partners include Lloyd’s of London, Hiscox and Polaris.
With this in mind, Insurtech UK recently held a panel discussion with senior representatives from Hiscox and Munich Re about negotiating with insurers and reinsurers and a ‘survival guide’ session with the group’s three legal partners.
Niall Barton, chair of Insurtech UK, commented: “We are delighted to introduce our new partners and associate members to our ecosystem. It has been really encouraging to see so many businesses out there who share our ambition to radically improve the insurance experience for consumers and to permanently change the reputation of the insurance industry.”
“I am confident that with the help of these new additions to our alliance, this goal is far more achievable than it was when we started in November 2018. I can’t wait to get started on working with them all.”
The launch of Insurtech UK follows the formation of the insurtech board, a new subgroup of Tech City UK’s fintech delivery panel focused specifically on insurtech and innovation, earlier in 2018.
These groups aim to promote the UK insurance technology agenda and help providers to scale up and compete on a global stage.
