DAC Beachcroft has appointed catastrophic injury claims specialist Kate Oldroyd as a partner in its national claims solutions group.
She is the second partner to be recruited to the team so far in 2020 and one of 13 partners to join the claims solutions group since July 2019.
Oldroyd, who was previously a partner at DWF, has extensive experience of handling complex, large-loss and catastrophic injury cases, particularly high-value fatal accident claims and inquests, and chronic pain claims.
Craig Dickson, chief executive officer of the claims solutions group at DAC Beachcroft, commented: “Kate brings experience and know-how that will further strengthen our already best-in-class national team of complex and catastrophic injury lawyers. We continue to focus on growing our business for the benefit of our insurer and commercial clients and are committed to delivering them the quality advice and bespoke solutions they need.”
Oldroyd added, “DAC Beachcroft’s catastrophic injury team has an outstanding reputation among insurers, and I’m delighted to be joining it and supporting its ambitious plans for the future.”
Oldroyd’s hire closely follows that of partner Adam Burrell, who joined DAC Beachcroft’s claims solutions group in January to lead its national costs practice.
The business also recruited a five partner-led team of catastrophic injury claims experts in Glasgow in 2019 and opened a new office in Belfast, which has six partners focused on litigation, professional negligence and risk management.
The law firm recently launched two new products, developed in its claims research and development hub, to guide and support clients and their customers through the insurance claims journey.
