Direct Line has launched two new services for small businesses and tradespeople.
Direct Line’s Legal Essentials service will provide small businesses with a comprehensive legal documents service and 24/7 helpline. The insurer’s Tools Essentials service, meanwhile, will help replace tradespeople’s most important equipment within 24 hours.
Legal Essentials is designed to solve smaller legal problems that take up valuable time and energy.
The packaged legal service proposition provides small businesses with DAS Businesslaw, a free legal document and business guide service. The service, designed to solve everyday business needs, is provided in partnership with legal expenses insurer DAS UK, and Farillio, which provides the technology behind the platform.
Small businesses can access a library of legal templates, tools and guides to help them run their business and stay compliant with the latest regulatory changes. They can use the service to create ready-to-sign contracts, agreements, policies and letters. All documents are developed and regularly updated by legal experts and are customisable via a smart document builder.
The service can help in more than 23 business areas. These include concerns with business planning and growth, disagreements, tax, Covid-19, data security and protection, fundraising, family business matters, and sub-contracting.
Direct Line customers also have access to a 24/7 legal advice helpline.
The insurer has also launched Tools Essentials, a service that helps to replace stolen or damaged tools quickly so that tradespeople can get back to work quickly.
Direct Line will help to replace essential tools within 24 hours, with an upfront faster payment of up to £1,500, subject to claims validation.
Tools Essentials is available to every customer who has a valid tools claim and policy with Direct Line – Business. Claims can be reported between 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays.
Jonny McHugh, SME business manager at Direct Line, said: “We know how important it is that small business owners and tradespeople are protected against legal issues and that they have the tools they need to get on with their job.”
