After-the-event (ATE) insurance specialist DAS UK Group will provide a bespoke clinical negligence product for clients of law firm Smith Partnership.
With six offices across the Midlands, Smith Partnership is a leading clinical negligence firm with experience and expertise in a variety of claims in areas such as delayed diagnosis or treatment, incorrect diagnosis, dental negligence, and hospital or care home neglect.
DAS UK, which has provided ATE in more than 30,000 clinical negligence cases, has developed a bespoke product with a flexible pricing structure as well as delegated authority. The product will provide coverage in areas such as:
- Disbursements and barrister’s fees;
- Opponent’s costs;
- Liability for the recoverable element and non-recoverable element of the premium for the policy if the client should lose their case; and
- Liability for the recoverable element of the premium for the policy if the client wins and cannot recover it in full or part from the opponent.
