LV=-branded bodyshops achieve Green Heart status

AW Group and the Vella Group have become the first LV= General Insurance (GI)-branded bodyshops to achieve the Green Heart Standard, confirming the car repairers as environmentally friendly, green and socially responsible.

LV= GI’s ethical standard for its branded bodyshop repair network requires its 25 branded car repairers to meet its corporate social responsibility goals and also become a ‘greener’ supplier.

The bodyshops that have achieved Green Heart Standard status are the AW Group sites in Denaby, Derby, and Sherburn in Elmet, and Vella Group sites in Liverpool and Deeside.

Both AW Group and Vella Group have now successfully demonstrated their green credentials across six new principles: achieving PAS2060 carbon neutral status, using green parts to repair cars, offering electric vehicles as hire cars to customers, displaying diversity and equality in the workforce, promoting mental health awareness among employees, and developing and training apprentices.

All six principles are aligned to the LV= GI social purpose pillars covering the environment and sustainability, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, and being a responsible business.

Altogether, just over 75% of LV= GI-branded bodyshops are now officially carbon neutral and achieved the PAS 2060 status.

Michael Golding, network manager at LV= GI, said: “AW Group and the Vella Group have helped pioneer the Green Heart Standard, not just by achieving PAS2060 accreditation, but also by raising environmental social impact awareness within their respective businesses.”

“They are able to provide our customers with a repair solution where the importance of corporate social responsibility sits alongside great customer service and a high standard of repair quality. The collaboration with their staff has been fantastic and they have helped us shape its contents and purpose.”
