DWF adds new insurance partner in London

Law firm DWF has appointed Lucy Tolond as a partner to its insurance team in London.

Tolond was previously a partner at BLM and has 15 years of experience in the professional indemnity market with an extensive focus on the financial services sector.

She specialises in defending claims for professional negligence against accountants, tax advisers, financial advisers, insurance brokers, mortgage intermediaries, insolvency practitioners, pension professionals and trustees. She also regularly advises insurers on coverage issues.

Tolond regularly manages large numbers of claims arising out of blanket or block notifications for financial mis-selling, whether in the courts or via the Financial Ombudsman Service, and has assisted clients with large-scale redress exercises arising out of S166 Skilled Person Reviews.

Kieran Walshe, global head of professional indemnity and commercial insurance at DWF, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy to our London team. Lucy has a strong reputation as a robust litigator with vast experience of managing wide portfolios of work including taking several high value claims to trial.”

“Her expertise in the financial services sector expertise will complement our client offering and I am delighted that she has chosen to join DWF’s expanding professional liability team.”

Tolond added: “I am delighted to start the New Year by joining the internationally renowned professional indemnity practice at DWF.”

I look forward to working with the team to maximise our offering to clients in the insurance and financial services sectors.”
