Lauri CS from Keoghs promises ‘claims resolution at high speed’

Law firm Keoghs has launched a new platform for automating insurance claims.

Lauri Claims System (CS) is an ecosystem of tools for claims automation that can be integrated into an insurer’s own systems.

It’s the result of 18 months of in-house development at Keoghs and client feedback, building on the capabilities of existing technologies such as Kuarterback, the AI medical report reader released in 2020, and DTection, the fraud screening system launched in February 2022.

Lauri CS automates the selection of these and other solutions, identifying and utilising relevant tools so that “valuation accuracy is achieved in minutes, delivering claims resolution at high speed”, according to Keoghs.

Initially focused on personal injury and available long term or on a pay-per-claim basis, Lauri CS can, for example, automate the submission of a report from the Official Injury Claim portal.

A pilot programme with a major global insurer following the introduction of the Civil Liability Act reforms demonstrated that the platform is capable of reducing average valuation times by around 25 minutes per claim.

Keoghs expects to expand Lauri CS over the coming months with additional technologies so that the platform can automate other volume claims processes, including credit hire, property and recoveries.

Damian Ward, head of motor and counter-fraud at Keoghs, commented: “Lauri CS is a game-changing piece of technology which can save insurers both time and money by streamlining the end-to-end process for volume claims.

“Previously we’ve seen piecemeal solutions which can speed up certain parts of the process, but clients consistently tell us they want a simple, integrated solution to automate volume claims from start to finish. For the first time, Lauri CS will enable them to do just that.”

The launch of Lauri CS follows the appointments of Michael Harvey and Edwin Milburn to the Keoghs property risks and coverage division last month.
