Blume announces new office and executive leadership team expansion

Leading LegalTech firm Blume is making waves with its recent announcement of a new office opening in south Manchester this spring.

The move comes as the company experiences significant growth in both staff numbers and client demand. Alongside this expansion, Blume has introduced a restructured executive leadership team, spearheaded by the appointment of Alex Kenny as chief executive officer.

Blume was the headline sponsor of the Claims Media Personal Injury Awards 2023, which was held in Manchester.

Brand new Blume office will have room for everyone

The new office at Egerton House in Towers Business Park, Didsbury, will more than double Blume’s currently capacity. Their modern facilities, boasting 10,500 sq ft plus communal gardens, parking, and cafes, also have some prestigious neighbours: businesses like John Lewis, British Airways, Regus, Syngenta, Oracle, SPX and Cisco have already set up shop there.

Set to open its doors in April, the new office will accommodate up to 150 employees, providing a centralised space for team members currently based in West Didsbury and Manchester city centre.

New CEO Alex Kenny brings with him over two decades of expertise in the legal sector. Previously serving as chief marketing officer for Fletchers Group, Kenny has been instrumental in leading marketing and call centre operations. Additionally, he is the visionary behind clinical negligence consumer brand Patient Claim Line, which he established in 2014.

Assuming key positions within the executive team are Zoe Holland MBE as chief commercial officer, Lisa Emsley as chief operating officer, and Joe Morgan as finance director. Holland, a seasoned clinical negligence lawyer, will focus on business development and client relations, while Emsley will oversee operational functions.

A change in leadership for Blume

Former CEO, Dez Derry, will continue to be a shareholder in Blume but will no longer be part of Blume’s day-to-day operations.

Kenny said: “I am both excited and humbled to take on the leadership of Blume going forward – it’s a great place to work with an amazing team, fantastic clients, and, crucially, a quality product at its core.

“It’s a privilege to take over the helm from Dez, who has not only grown the business to where it is today but carved a strong reputation in the clinical negligence and personal injury market. The new team and I are focussed on continuing to deliver high-quality work that allows our law firm clients to ‘Blume’, all supported by exceptional client care.

“Bringing our Blume colleagues under one roof is a really exciting milestone for us, and forms part of a wider ambition for Blume’s growth and evolution.”

Lisa Emsley adds: “We’re looking forward to creating a new, vibrant and personalised workplace for our hard-working teams to enjoy and thrive in.”
