Court of Protection Senior Judge announced as keynote speaker at Hyphen Law training seminar in Bristol

Personal Injury lawyers will have the opportunity to attend a training seminar in Bristol next month presided over by the senior judge of the Court of Protection Judge Denzil Lush and organised by specialist deputyship services and Personal Injury Trusts firm, Hyphen Law.

The free event, taking place on Thursday, 5 March 2015 at The Paragon, Counterslip, Bristol will be chaired by Christine Bunting, director of deputyships at Hyphen Law and is aimed at Personal Injury lawyers who need to understand more about mental capacity, Court of Protection issues and their impact on quantum.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to learn from widely respected keynote speaker, Senior Judge of the Court of Protection Denzil Lush. He will be covering the issue of Islam and the Court of Protection and the interface between English and Islamic Law.

The CPD accredited seminar, which will be two and a half hours long, is sponsored by personal financial advice firm Towry and also boasts two leading Barristers from Bristol’s Guildhall Chambers in its speaker line up, Gabriel Beeby and Rhys Hadden, both highly experienced in Court of Protection cases.

Christine Bunting said: “It is vital that Personal Injury lawyers fully understand the growing importance of the Court of Protection and its key role in safeguarding vulnerable people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves.

“This training seminar is a must-attend for lawyers keen to learn more about the Court of Protection, from Personal Injury claims, interim payments and quantum to managing settlements and making important decisions about Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts.

“It promises to be an enjoyable and informative afternoon and the seminar will conclude with a question and answer session. Delegates can either ask questions on the day or submit their questions in advance. Drinks and canapés will be served following the question and answer, giving delegates the opportunity to debate the issues with their peers and network. I am really looking forward to chairing the event and meeting Personal Injury lawyers from across the region.”

Registration for the Hyphen Law training seminar with tea and coffee will start from 1.00pm on Thursday 5 March 2015 at The Paragon, Counterslip, Bristol BS1 6BX and the first session commences at 1.45pm.
