Ex-ACE executive, Roger Day, chairs new UK insurance investigative service

A new insurance claims investigation service, called CoventBridge Group, has launched in the UK.

Led by chair Roger Day, the ex-ACE executive, and former ICS Merrill CEO Dave Merrill, the company has been formed by the merger of GlobalOptions with U.S. full service investigative firm, ICS Merrill.

As well as claim investigation, CoventBridge offers surveillance services, in-house counter fraud investigations and complex international investigations. If has affiliates around the globe and has over 1,000 employees.

CoventBridge is ready to raise the bar on the customer service experienced by UK insurers and reset market expectations of supplier investigative standards,” said Day.

“The recent Insurance Fraud Taskforce report painted the landscape ahead for UK insurers and CoventBridge is committed to supporting the market with bespoke support, fit for purpose in today’s evolving counter fraud environment.”

Merrill added that the UK insurance market was under increasing governmental scrutiny in relation to its counter-fraud controls and had been further impacted by other UK domestic and EU regulation. He said that CoventBridge understood the risks that insurers face when operating in a such a heavily-regulated market.

“We also recognise the pressure for insurers to make informed, accurate decisions whilst containing costs and maximising operational efficiency. First and foremost, CoventBridge will listen to what UK insurers’ really want and need from their investigative partners so that we can ensure our services are properly aligned to deliver partnership value,” he said.
