Temple Legal Protection, has become the first legal and professional fees expenses insurer to offer a claims dispute service as part of its loss adjuster fee insurance cover.
The service, called Loss Adjust Advantage, provides claimants with cover for the fees of expert loss adjusters to attend and assess losses, to help with the preparation and submission of claims, as well as the negotiation and settlement with insurers on the claimant’s behalf. Loss Adjust Advantage also responds to material damage and business interruption policies and claims. Temple Legal Protection says that it is the only product in the market to also cover cyber and key person policies.
The insurer says that another unique feature of the service is that it also provides access to legal advice and cover for the costs of pursuing a claim where a policyholder has a dispute over policy coverage or quantum with their insurer. Where a claim is pursued, and subject to there being good prospects of success, costs such as counsels’ fees, experts’ and court fees, and the risk of having to pay insurer’s costs are covered.
The claims dispute service is provided in partnership with Fenchurch Law.
Chris Wait, managing director of Temple Legal Protection, said: “This unique offering demonstrates our commitment to supporting brokers and their clients’ throughout the claims journey.
“By combining claims dispute advice and funding with our loss adjuster fees insurance cover means we now provide a comprehensive claims support service that enables claimants to achieve a faster and fairer settlement and directly enhances the level of resources brokers can access to support their clients through the claims process.”
