Marsh makes new appointments ahead of JLT acquisition

Marsh has made a series of key appointments of key specialty leaders for the UK and Ireland.

These appointments will be effective on closing of the transaction between Marsh’s parent company and JLT.

Paul Moody will become head of Marsh-JLT Specialty for the UK and Ireland, reporting to Lucy Clarke, future president of Marsh-JLT Specialty, and to Lay.

The following leaders for Marsh-JLT Specialty in the UK and Ireland will report to Moody and the corresponding global specialty leaders:

  • Peter Elson, currently UK chief executive officer of aerospace for JLT, will become UK and Ireland chief executive officer of aviation. Mark Costin, currently UK and Ireland chief executive officer of aviation and space for Marsh, will become UK and Ireland deputy chief executive officer of aviation
  • Andrew Herring, currently UK and Ireland chief executive officer of energy and power for Marsh, will be UK and Ireland chief executive officer of energy and power. Rupert Mackenzie, currently UK chief executive officer of energy for JLT, will become UK and Ireland deputy chief executive officer of energy and power. Andrew Barnes, currently UK chairman of energy for JLT, will become UK and Ireland chairman of energy and power
  • Tim Smith, currently UK chief executive officer of construction at JLT, will become UK and Ireland chief executive officer of construction and real estate. Philip Lazell, currently UK and Ireland chief executive officer of construction and real estate for Marsh, will become UK and Ireland chairman of construction and real estate
  • Paul Denny, currently UK and Ireland chief executive officer of financial lines and professional liability (FINPRO) for Marsh, will be UK and Ireland chief executive officer of FINPRO. Sarah Hughes, currently UK chief executive officer of financial lines for JLT, will become UK and Ireland deputy chief executive officer of FINPRO
  • Matt Strong, currently UK chief executive officer of credit, political and security risk for JLT, will become UK and Ireland chief executive officer of credit specialty
  • Andrew Hunt, currently UK and Ireland chief executive officer of private equity and mergers and acquisitions (PEMA) for Marsh, will be UK and Ireland chief executive officer of PEMA
  • Gordon Longley, currently UK chief executive officer of marine and cargo for JLT, will become UK and Ireland chief executive officer of marine
