Markerstudy Group appoints head of group property

Sheree Dawton has joined Markerstudy Group as head of group property.

The insurance services and claims handling group described Dawton’s appointment as “a strategic move targeted at increasing revenue, reducing costs, and streamlining the substantial division”.

Dawton specialises in the ultra high net worth sector of both property and finance. She has a track record in restructuring and development, combined with an in-depth knowledge of both commercial and domestic estates.

Her position will include Markerstudy’s maintenance and facilities, and health and safety departments.

Established in 2001 and employing around 4,000 staff in locations throughout the UK, Markerstudy Group operates several insurance brands, including Markerstudy Insurance, Zenith Insurance, Zenith Marque, Geoffrey Insurance Services, Supercover Insurance and The Insurance Factory.

In January, Markerstudy bought the underwriting business of Co-op for £185 million.

As part of the deal, Co-op has entered into a 13-year distribution agreement with Markerstudy to distribute motor and home insurance products.
