A host of insurance brokers and professionals were recognised as the industry’s most innovative at the virtual Broker Innovation Awards last week.
Claims Media is the exclusive media partner for the event and witnessed Kingsbridge Group, BHIB Insurance Brokers, Aon, UNA Alliance and other firms and providers win during the virtual ceremony on brokerawards.co.uk, where attendees celebrated the successes of the past 12 months and the industry’s dedication to supporting clients in these difficult times.
Of the individuals to be recognised at the Broker Innovation Awards, Ashwin Mistry OBE was named Director of the Year.
In his speech during the virtual Broker Innovation Awards, Steve White, chief executive of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association and chair of the 2020 judging panel, reflected on the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and its impact on the insurance industry and its customers.
He said: “Who would have guessed after last year’s inaugural Broker Innovation Awards what the next nine months would have in store. Our daily lives have been transformed, our working lives likewise. Our customers, whether they be consumers or businesses large or small, have all been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
“Whilst the ins and outs of policy wordings have been debated far and wide, across both trade and national media—what has gone largely unheralded is the way insurance businesses have embraced technology and innovation to help them to continue to provide vital services to the customers and stakeholders.”
Andy Fairchild, chief executive officer of Applied Systems Europe, praised the finalists and winners “for being those pioneers for change in our industry”.
While the insurance industry continues to adapt to this new normal, and as policyholders consider their current and future needs, find out what the independent judging panel had to say about each and every winner at the Broker Innovation Awards, whose innovation is a testament to their collective desire to deliver a better service.
