Hannah Dixon joins Sedgwick, Copart UK appoints Richard Howe and Mactavish recruits Tom White—read about all the latest appointments in the insurance claims sector
Hannah Dixon has joined claims management company Sedgwick as client director for the UK.
Dixon’s appointment follows a period of growth for Sedgwick in the UK. She will focus on generating new business, strengthening client relationships, and working with the operational teams to deliver best-in-class services to existing and prospective clients.
With more than 10 years of experience in the insurance sector, Dixon joins Sedgwick from a major insurance group and brings proven expertise in vendor and operational management, selection and oversight across multiple lines of business.
She is also experienced in the design and build of operational claims teams, and relationship management across claims, underwriting, sales, brokers, managing general agents (MGAs) and vendors.
Dixon is well known for her work for Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) where she is on the board and regularly speaks at industry events to help raise awareness of dementia.
In her new role, Dixon will replace Mark George, who is due to retire in May after 25 years with the company.”

Car auction provider Copart UK, which sells vehicles on behalf of the insurance sector and other customers, has appointed Richard Howe to the role of head of central operations.
He was previously head of engineering at Markerstudy Insurance and will assume responsibility for managing the customer support centre and claims settlement functions at a new customer excellence centre in Bedford.
Copart’s claims settlement, customer support centre, vehicle engineering and operational audit teams are now operating across three floors at Franklin Court, based in Priory Business Park, Bedford.

Mactavish, the specialist outsourced insurance buyer and claims resolution firm, has recruited former Zurich executive Tom White.
White joins Mactavish as head of corporate customer solutions. He will design and arrange complex insurance programmes for the firm’s corporate customer base.
The new recruit brings 35 years of senior experience in the insurance sector. After a period working in the pharmaceutical sector, he moved to The Royal in 1986 and Royal Global in 1990. He later joined Zurich where he undertook a number of leadership roles, including UK head of property and casualty, European cead of corporate customer solutions and global head of distribution, a role that saw him oversee the insurer’s relationship with one of its biggest broker partners.
