Liberty Specialty Markets welcomes back Sarah Howell

Liberty Specialty Markets has appointed Sarah Howell to a newly created claims manager role, after seven years away from the commercial, specialty and reinsurance business. 

As claims manager of open market specialty, Howell is responsible for managing the marine, aviation, energy, property and construction claims team at Liberty Specialty Markets, which offers specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance products directly and through Lloyd’s markets in the UK and internationally.

Howell has more than 16 years of experience in the industry in various technical and managerial roles, including a role as head of syndicate claims.

She returns to the business after seven years away, from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where she was head of property claims.

Commenting on Howell’s appointment, Gavin Coley, head of specialty claims at Liberty Specialty Markets, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah back to a role which strengthens our management team. She is a highly regarded claims professional.”
