Zurich has appointed James Nicholson to the role of UK chief claims officer.
Nicholson joined the insurer as a graduate 26 years ago and has held a number of claims leadership roles across personal lines, Zurich Municipal, property and global corporate.
Before taking on the interim chief claims officer role, Nicholson was Zurich’s head of expert and commercial insurance claims.
Tim Bailey, UK chief executive officer at Zurich, hailed Nicholson as “yet another great example of someone who started their career at Zurich and has now joined the executive committee”.
“In fact, this is the story for a quarter of our exco team.”
He continued: “James’ breadth of experience, relentless desire to deliver for our customers, and fantastic market insight means he’s well-placed to take on this role. I’m looking forward to seeing this team go from strength to strength in James’ capable hands.”
Nicholson (pictured) said: “I joined Zurich on the graduate scheme, so I’ve experienced the business through every lens at every level. I’m honoured to take on this role, we have a really strong Claims team and we are in a great position to deliver for our customers. I’m excited to see what’s next and what we can achieve together.”
