Signature Underwriting joins MGAA as 200th member

Signature Underwriting has become the 200th member of the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA).

The newest MGA to join the association was founded in 2013 and specialises in taxi, courier, haulage, and commercial own goods insurance.

MGAA members now control more than £7.3 billion in gross written premium and the association’s growing membership includes 56 market practitioners and 122 suppliers. It launched in 2011.

Mike Keating, chief executive officer of the MGAA, spoke about Signature Underwriting becoming the 200th MGA member.

He said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming our 200th member, Signature Underwriting, and to have reached such an important growth milestone for the association.

“Not only is this testament to our continued commitment to representing the interests of the MGA sector, but it is also reflective of just how important MGAs have become in the wider insurance market. We look forward to welcoming new members whilst we retain a laser focus on meeting all member needs.”

Kelly Sims, head of operations at Signature Underwriting, added: “We’re excited to be joining the MGAA and to raise our profile within the MGA and broker communities. We feel that the Association’s platform will give us a great opportunity to connect with brokers regarding our niche motor hire and reward insurance product offering.

“The additional benefits of high-quality training and development opportunities for our employees, as well as the ability to attend the annual conference, made this decision an easy one for us.

“As a small team, one of the greatest challenges is having people away from the office for large periods of time to attend training sessions, the fact that the MGAA have many of these available online means that it suits our working practices and enables us to get the most out of our membership.”
