QuestGates strengthens market position with acquisition of Brownsword Group 

QuestGates acquires Brownsword Group, boosting its specialist services and market share. 

QuestGates, UK’s largest independently owned loss adjusting and claims solutions group, has announced its acquisition of the Brownsword Group.  

The acquisition is set to bolster the group’s third-party investigations and specialist service capabilities. 

Founded in 1994 and based in Manchester, the Brownsword Group has earned a reputation for delivering compliant intelligence solutions to the insurance industry. The company specialises in a variety of investigative services, including surveillance, motor fraud detection, and theft investigations, combining advanced technology with traditional investigative methods. 

Chris Hall, chief executive of QuestGates, commented, “We are delighted to welcome everyone at the Brownsword Group to the QuestGates family. Their niche, specialist expertise complements our existing third-party services and strengthens our capabilities in the insurance sector.” 

The Brownsword Group will retain its established brand identity while immediately gaining access to QuestGates’ broader resources. The acquisition is the latest in a series, following QuestGates’ recent purchases of QCH Legal (now QGLaw) and the consolidation of its Building Consultancy Services, which integrated acquisitions such as Structural Surveys, Ramsay McMichael Consulting, and BTA. 

“This acquisition significantly increases QuestGates’ market share in the third-party investigations space and continues to cement our position as the go-to claims solutions group in the UK and Ireland,” added Chris Hall.
