John Spencer, director at Spencers Solicitors, is to serve for three years as the national solicitor representative member for England and Wales on the Civil Justice Council (CJC).

The Vice-President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) will provide advice to the Lord Chancellor and the Judiciary in the voluntary role.

The Civil Justice Council (CJC) was established in 1997 with responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the modernisation of the justice system.

His firm, Spencers Solicitors has also appeared as Chesterfield’s only dedicated personal injury law firm in the Legal 500.

Robert Landman, a board member at Spencers said the firm was very proud of both achievements.

”Our inclusion [in the Legal 500] is down to the hard work and dedication of our staff in representing our clients in Derbyshire and beyond, helping them to get the compensation that they deserve. On top of the news that our Director, John Spencer, is going to represent all solicitors in England and Wales on one of the most senior national legal bodies, this has been a great week for everyone at the firm.”
