Leila Benyounes, a specialist personal injury and clinical negligence barrister at Parklane Plowden, has been appointed president of Leeds and District Medico-Legal Society.
Benyounes, the society’s former vice president, will provide leadership for the cross professional network that includes; solicitors and barristers, the judiciary, GPs and consultants, and nurses.
Her first official duty as President will be to introduce the inaugural lecture of the 2015/16 Presidential year at BPP Professional Education Law School in Leeds on 7 October.
“I am proud to take up the Presidency of Leeds and District Medico-Legal Society,” said Benyounes.
“It is my responsibility to champion the needs of our diverse membership at this time of unprecedented challenges for both the medical and legal professions.
“The Society was founded many years ago to promote better understanding and good relations between the professions, and it is my role to ensure that this continues, so I look forward to building on the excellent work that my predecessors have started,” added Benyounes.
