Allianz Insurance has named Gerry Ross as its new head of commercial motor.
In his new role, Ross will be responsible for the commercial motor account, including digital motor products.
He joined the insurer in 2002 as an underwriting graduate. He has undertaken a number of different roles across the head office and regional teams, briefly leaving in 2010 to join a London market insurer before returning as a motor manager for the Southeast.
More recently, Ross held a regional underwriting manager role and played a key part in the transfer of LV= business to Allianz.
Catherine Dixon, commercial underwriting director at Allianz, commented: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Gerry into this role. He brings with him excellent technical motor capabilities as well as a wealth of experience from within Allianz.”
“His collaborative leadership style together with strong customer and market focus will, I am sure, help to take our already market leading commercial motor account from strength to strength.”
Last month, Allianz celebrated another record year for fraud success, reaching a total saving of £64.75 million in 2018.
The total savings have increased by £2.75 million since 2017, with an increased performance against an indemnity spend up 10% from the previous year.
