Meet the finalists of the British Claims Awards 2019

Dozens of leading lights from the claims sector in the UK have been named as finalists of the British Claims Awards 2019.

The finalists will have to wait until 6 June to find out whether they topped their categories. The ceremony will be held in London at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel.

The judging panel, led by Jonathan Clark, president of the Chartered Insurance Institute, met in April to make their final decisions on the entries, of which there were a record number.

Categories include Insurer of the Year, Broker of the Year and the coveted award for Outstanding Services to the Policyholder.

Judging panel chair Jonathan Clark recently emphasised the importance of the claims function and where the sector should focus its efforts throughout this year and in the future. He said: “Our role in claims should be to make the claimant feel that even though the event that started the process (the accident) was bad, the process, the experience and the outcome were good—that they were well treated and cared about.”

“Empathy and curiosity are key skills as much as the technical knowledge that underpins our professionalism.”

Mark Dugdale, editor of Claims Media, added: “Claims is a vital service that policyholders rely on when times are hardest. All of the finalists deserve an opportunity to celebrate the work that they do in this regard, and to have the opportunity to measure themselves against the customer service benchmark that is the British Claims Awards.”

“I look forward to finding out who won each category on 6 June. Thank you to all of our judges and sponsors, whose help and commitment make the British Claims Awards and its celebration of claims as a service a reality.”
