WBD chooses Virtualfiles to support claims handling

Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has partnered with claims and risk management solutions provider Virtualfiles to support its claims handling offering.

WBD Claims, established as the firm’s bespoke claims handling operation to support insurance and corporate clients, sits alongside its Advance and Accelerate offerings.

It was created as a separate team for financial lines claims and is led from the firm’s London office by David Clark, who joined WBD from Clyde & Co in 2019, and is supported in Southampton, Bristol and Plymouth.

WBD chose Virtualfiles for its claims management IT platform because of its track record—having built and provided insurance claims management systems, both globally and in the London market, for more than a decade.

Commenting on the decision to choose Virtualfiles to support its claims handling offering, Clark said: “Whilst we have been successfully handling claims for clients for many years, WBD Claims boasts a separate specialist team supported by market leading claims technology. We’re delighted to have partnered with Virtualfiles on this ambitious project. They have helped us create an innovative and fully dynamic platform which will enhance our offering.”

Nathan Lownds, chief executive officer of Virtualfiles, said: “We’re extremely proud to be partnering with WBD, it’s testament to the quality of Virtualfiles that another leading law firm has chosen to manage its claims via our platform. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
