Law firm DAC Beachcroft has launched a new online platform to support insurers’ claims teams in navigating their way through the new rules and procedures introduced as a result of the whiplash reforms that went live on 31 May 2021.
Developed by partner Kevan Smith and associate Stephanie Welsher, members of the motor injury team at DAC Beachcroft, the firm’s new motor whiplash reforms microsite draws together a wealth of practical information, tools and materials, including:
- Guidance on the main differences between the Ministry of Justice Claims Portal and the new Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal;
- Tariff and non-tariff damages;
- Answers to frequently asked questions; and
- An interactive flow chart showing the different directions that a claim can progress through with the new process.
Commenting on the new online resource, Smith said: “The new rules and processes brought in as a result of the government’s whiplash reforms bring huge changes for all in the claims arena. Our new microsite will provide insurers with an interactive live resource of materials and support, capable of adapting to behaviours on the new OIC portal as they emerge.”
To help those making a claim, DAC Beachcroft has also published a simple guide that explains where a claimant should start their claim and whether it is suitable for the OIC portal.
