Claims manager Gallagher Bassett appoints new EMEA general counsel 

Claims and risk management service provider Gallagher Bassett has announced the appointment of Katie Lamb as general counsel for its Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) operations. 

Lamb brings nearly 15 years of legal expertise within the insurance industry to the role. She joins Gallagher Bassett from CNA Hardy, where she held several senior legal positions. Her career began at law firm Clyde & Co, where she specialised in mergers and acquisitions and broader corporate legal matters. Over the years, she has led legal, compliance, and company secretarial functions, positioning her well to navigate the insurance sector’s evolving regulatory landscape. 

“I am thrilled to accept this position and lead the legal and compliance function at Gallagher Bassett,” Lamb said. “I’m eager to contribute to a stronger legal and compliance framework, and work alongside a talented group of individuals as part of the wider Gallagher family.” 

Lamb has indicated that her leadership approach in the new role will focus on collaboration and continuous improvement: “I believe in creating an environment where everyone feels supported and encouraged to take initiative. Embracing GB’s growth mindset is crucial to me; I see challenges as opportunities for learning and constantly strive to improve processes and outcomes.”
