Nathan Holt to succeed Haynes as ARAG’s director of underwriting

Leading legal expenses and assistance insurer, ARAG, has announced that Nathan Holt will take over as director of underwriting when David Haynes becomes CEO at the start of April.

Nathan will assume overall underwriting responsibility for all of ARAG’s before-the-event (BTE) and after-the-event (ATE) insurance and assistance products. He will also join the UK Executive Management Committee, reinforcing ARAG’s commitment to delivering comprehensive and innovative legal expenses solutions.

Nathan has most recently served as ARAG’s Head of BTE and ATE Underwriting. Prior to joining ARAG, he held a succession of underwriting roles at DAS, bringing nearly 25 years of experience in sales and underwriting from his career at DAS, Lockton, and RSA.

Commenting on the appointment, incoming CEO David Haynes said: “Nathan has already proven himself to be a great addition to the ARAG team and has a huge amount of experience and an impressive track-record, so I’m delighted to welcome him onto the Executive Management Committee. We’re in a really important phase in ARAG’s growth, as we consolidate our product portfolio to ensure we continue to deliver the best and most flexible products in every category.”

Nathan will take on his new role from 1st April 2025, and his appointment to the Executive Management Committee is subject to regulatory approval.
