Simpson Millar’s Collins wins brain injury forum award

Warren Collins, Simpson Millar’s head of catastrophic injury, has been presented with the Stephen McAleese Award for Inspiration at the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) conference.

The Award for Inspiration was open to all brain injury professionals and is dedicated to those who go above the duty of their professional calling to support people and families in the most difficult circumstances.

Collins has not only devoted the past two decades to support clients with catastrophic injuries, but has also used his own personal experience as the partner of someone with a catastrophic brain injury to educate others about the difficulties clients and their families face.

Collins, who was also named as the Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year category at the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards for 2013, this week, was praised by the UKABIF for using his personal experience to educate associated professionals on the difficulties faced by brain injured clients and their families.

Peter Watson, Simpson Millar's managing partner said that his colleague was a lawyer whose dedication to his clients and charities that support families at a time of great difficulty was appreciated by the wider legal and medical community.

"He deserves full recognition for his work and everyone at Simpson Millar feels that both of these awards have been granted to the right person," he said.
