Argent Rehabilitation is bringing together representatives from all sides of the personal injury claims sector to debate the state of rehabilitation services in the wake of the Government's decision to introduce independent medical panels.

Speakers from MASS, APIL, representatives from claimant and defendants law firms and rehabilitation professionals will address the 21 November event in London at the Andaz Hotel.

Andrew Pemberton, the director of Argent Rehabilitation, said that opinions of rehabilitation could divide the personal injury community with some seeing it as expensive and cumbersome, while others arguing that if delivered promptly it was the best way to help someone who has been injured.

“While the debate about how to deal with whiplash claims continues and Government looks to medical panels to help identify genuine claims, it is very timely to examine where rehabilitation fits in and whether it can be used more beneficially,” he said.

Speakers will include Susan Brown, the deputy chair of MASS, Deborah Evans, CEO at APIL, David Preston from Irwin Mitchell, Geoff Owen from Greenwoods Solicitors and Weightmans Solicitors' Elaine Chapman.
