Tim Wallis and Zoe Holland were recognised for their considerable achievements within the claims sector on 21 May at the Claims Innovation Awards, held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

Wallis, a highly respected mediator, the chairman of the Claims Portal Limited and the Civil Justice Council's ADR working party, received the Lifetime Achievement award on the night. Announcing Wallis as the award winner, Chris Shaw, commercial director at Quindell and the chair of the judging panel, said that whether it be as a solicitor, mediator, or industry body chair, Wallis has always had "one eye on innovation" and become a trusted figure for both claimants, defendants and the Ministry of Justice. He has also been, said Shaw, instrumental in facilitating the negotiations which led to the creation of the Claims Portal.

Holland, the founder of Zebra Legal Consulting, was named the Outstanding Innovator of the Year for her work as an adviser. Shaw described her as a"big-time innovator" who had filled a gap in the market that continues to consolidate and make costs savings.
