Hempsons adds two new members to its clinical negligence team

Hempsons has added two new lawyers to its clinical negligence team.

Partner Kathleen Wilson and associate Ruth Day will work with the firm’s defendant team in its Harrogate office.

Wilson, who is re-joining Hempsons, qualified in 1987 and specialises in catastrophic and brain damage cases. She has been a NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA) nominated partner for over a decade.

Day qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and has worked at another panel firm undertaking NHSLA work for the last 11 years representing a number of local Trusts. She will assist with supervising other members of the Harrogate team, and to continue running her own caseload of higher value claims for the NHSLA.

“Hempsons is the leader in its field and I look forward to adding to the reputation and expertise of the Harrogate office and wider national group,” said Wilson.

Day added that Hempsons had a longstanding reputation undertaking defendant clinical negligence work and that it was well respected in the area both locally and nationally.

“I enjoy practicing this area of law and have forged good relations with the NHSLA and various Claims Handlers. I hope to continue to do so and form new relations with the Hempsons’ valued clients,” she said.
