Andrew McDougall and Tim Roberts, two of the founders of Parabis group, have acquired the group’s defendant insurance legal services businesses.
The group, which is being broken up and sold off in a pre-pack administration deal, will see its defendant arms regrouped and brought under the Plexus Law name.
Employing more than 1,000 people, the firm will offer a full range of high-end legal services to the insurance market from offices throughout the UK including London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester.
At the helm of Plexus Law will be an executive team led by Andrew McDougall as Chief Executive Officer. Tim Roberts will take up the role of Commercial Director, law firm partner Hilary Yeo becomes operations director and Nick Addyman will head up the consumer law division. Existing practice heads and operating partners within the firm will continue in their roles.
“This is the dawn of an exciting new chapter. We are building on the bedrock of strong relationships with our insurer clients and a great team of legal and support staff,” said Tim Roberts.
“We have a comprehensive service offering of the highest quality, the best people to help us deliver this and a sound platform from which to build the business going forward. In time we will look to build on the stability today’s transaction affords and further develop our service offering, including our consumer law operation.
“In the meantime I’m delighted that we have been able to secure the jobs of so many people whose talent and commitment allow us to continue to deliver market-leading services and advice to our clients.”
