Personal injury excellence accreditation for Atherton Godfrey head of litigation John McQuater

One of Doncaster’s leading personal injury experts, John McQuater, has been re-accredited as a member of the Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme by the Law Society.

McQuater, a partner and head of litigation at Atherton Godfrey, who delivers training sessions for personal injury and clinical negligence specialists throughout the UK and Channel Islands, specialises in cases involving spinal injuries, head and brain injuries, serious workplace accidents and fatalities.

Commenting on the accreditation, McQuater said: “I am very pleased to have been successful in gaining re-accreditation, which I think does concentrate on the essential elements of practice.

It is important to be able to accurately assess the level of damages where cases will succeed; we have seen a growing number of cases where firms have settled for much less than their real value, merely to obtain a “quick win” – that is not in the client’s best interests.”

Membership of the scheme is only awarded to those who have undergone a rigorous assessment and have demonstrated competence in a number of key areas.

Practitioners must have an outstanding level of skill, knowledge and experience and be able to demonstrate that they are able to handle a wide range of personal injury cases, having concluded a minimum of 36 cases within the past three years.
