Record-breaking year sees 40% increase in entries for Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards

A record number of entries have been made for the 2016 Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.

The unprecedented number of entrants – a 40% increase on last year – has come at a time of great uncertainty for the market, emphasising the event’s position as the pre-eminent awards ceremony on the personal injury calendar.

The awards, now in their ninth year, will take place at the Grange St. Paul’s hotel in London on 24 November.

Bridging the claimant/defendant divide by encompassing all professionals and key service providers working in this field, the objectives of the awards are to identify high standards of practice and to inspire others to emulate the achievements demonstrated by those who have been shortlisted.

This year’s chair of the judging panel is Deborah Evans, the chief executive of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). Evans is an alternate director for Portal Co, the organisation responsible for the running of the RTA portal,and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Personal Injury Law (JPIL). She is actively involved in campaigning on legal reform, with a strong grasp of the impact of policy changes on both injured people and firms.

She is joined by Andrew Pemberton, chair of the UK Rehabilitation Council; the CEO of FOIL, Laurence Besemer; David Fisher, the catastrophic and injury claims technical manager at AXA Insurance; Robert Khan, head of law reform for the Law Society; Amanda Stevens, group head of legal practice at Hudgell Solicitors; Paul Nicholls, the co-founder of law firm Nicholas Brimble; and Bill Braithwaite QC, from Exchange Chambers.
