Carpenters appoints new head of serious and catastrophic injury

National legal and insurance services provider Carpenters Group has appointed Carol Hopwood as head of serious and catastrophic injury.

The appointment represents an increase in the size of the team and reflects the group’s commitment to the development of its serious catastrophic injury services.

Hopwood joins Carpenters Group following five years at Slater and Gordon in Liverpool, where she was principal lawyer and head of brain and spinal injuries. She has 25 years of experience as a personal injury lawyer specialising in cases of clients with a brain, spinal, amputation injuries, and fatal accidents.

In her new role, Hopwood (pictured) will have overall responsibility for leading the serious and catastrophic injury team, which is now based in the Carpenters Liverpool office. She will also join the operating board of the group.

Hopwood is also the founding trustee and secretary of Headway Sefton, a branch of the UK-wide charity that works to improve life affected by a brain injury. She is passionate about working with brain injury survivors and their families and dedicates her spare time to help local charitable organisations, schools and the police with their fundraising efforts and training activities.
