Tom Maloney joins AmTrust International in senior claims role

AmTrust International has appointed Tom Maloney to a senior claims role.

Joining the UK and International arm of New York-based AmTrust Financial Services in Q1 2020, Maloney will serve as head of claims for AmTrust International Specialty and chief claims officer for AmTrust Europe.

He will be based in London and will report to Angel Mas, specialty business unit managing director and chief executive officer for AmTrust Europe Limited, as a member of the international specialty executive team.

Michael Walsh has also been appointed as delegated claims manager for AmTrust International Specialty. He will join the business in Q1 2020, reporting to Maloney.

Maloney joined AmTrust in 2016 and has been pivotal in the development of the group claims technical and operation framework, which successfully integrated the Lloyd’s and company claims platform.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has worked within leading international broking houses and insurance carriers.

Maloney previously held leadership and managerial roles with CNA Hardy, Alterra at Lloyd’s, Aon and Marsh.

Walsh has more than 20 years of experience within claims and joins AmTrust International from the Corporation of Lloyd’s, where he worked within the claims performance team responsible for the identification and remediation of underperformance across the market..
