McLarens strengthens construction and engineering team

McLarens has boosted its loss adjusting expertise in construction and engineering with the appointment of a team of specialists from Advanta.

Mark Simmons (pictured) has joined McLarens to lead the construction and engineering team in the UK and Ireland. He will work alongside new recruits Blue Newton and Sean Gregory, based in London.

Simmons was head of construction and engineering at Advanta, as well as construction and surveying director. He is a dual qualified adjuster/surveyor, with more than 30 years of experience.

He has taken over from Peter Scott to oversee McLarens’s construction and engineering portfolio across 21 offices in the UK and Ireland. Scott has moved into the new role of construction and engineering technical lead.

Newton and Gregory, who have also joined from Advanta, are dedicated construction and engineering specialists.

Newton is a former geotechnical consulting engineer and following completion of his master’s degree, he spent a further two years in industry before moving into adjusting within the construction and engineering sector.

Gregory has more than 20 years of loss adjusting experience across all forms of property and liability losses, ultimately specialising in construction and engineering.

The new team will strengthen McLarens’s London offering and, combined with the firm’s construction and engineering hub in Manchester, ensure comprehensive geographical coverage across the UK.

The expanded London team will also operate alongside McLarens’s London market natural resources practice, to provide joint solutions to the energy and renewables sector.
