Simpson Millar names new head of clinical negligence

Simpson Millar has promoted Geoffrey Simpson-Scott to head of clinical negligence in a move that sees the firm further bolster its senior management team.

Having joined Simpson Millar as a partner in 2015, Simpson-Scott boasts 17 years of experience of acting for claimants in clinical and medical negligence claims—with particular expertise in complex and high-value cases.

As part of the promotion, he will now be responsible for leading the firm’s six partner-strong clinical negligence offering across London, Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds.

Based in Teddington, Simpson-Scott will work alongside Simpson Millar’s national head of injury, Ian Cohen, to deliver on the strategic aims of the team, as well as further the firm’s ambitions to become a leading consumer law firm.

Commenting on Simpson-Scott’s promotion. Cohen, said: “I am delighted to announce that Geoff has been appointed as our new head of department for clinical negligence with immediate effect.”

The appointment follows the firm’s office relocation in Liverpool to the Edward Pavilion on the Albert Dock.
