Davies Group completes Keoghs acquisition

Davies Group has completed its acquisition of defendant law firm Keoghs, after receiving regulatory approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

The acquisition of insurance-focused top 50 firm Keoghs was announced in January and marked the group’s move into the insurance legal services sector.

Davies already delivers professional services and technology solutions across the risk and insurance value chain, including excellence in claims, underwriting, distribution, regulation, customer experience, human capital, transformation and change management.

In Keoghs, Davies has acquired a defendant-only law firm that provides dispute resolution and risk services across the motor, casualty, complex and specialty classes.

The deal supports Davies’s objective of deepening its capability and domain expertise across its insurance and highly regulated market segments, with Keoghs chief executive John Whittle heading up legal solutions for Davies and joining the group executive committee.

Whittle and the wider Keoghs management team have become shareholders in the enlarged business.

Dan Saulter (pictured), group chief executive of Davies, said: “We are thrilled to get this deal over the line. Many of our insurance clients are seeking to work with fewer strategic partners, and to build long term relationships across a range of services to support their growth and delivery. We must also continue to invest in technology and innovation. In Keoghs we find a team who share our vision and I look forward to working hard to ensure we deliver.”
