AXA offers cheaper car insurance option

AXA UK has launched a new cheaper car insurance policy designed to provide customers with greater choice to meet their driving needs.

The product, which has a three-star rating from financial information, ratings and fintech business Defaqto, will deliver lower cost premiums for drivers who require a policy with fewer add-ons, according to AXA.

Launching this month on Confused.com and MoneySuperMarket, the policy is aimed at drivers who require a different level of cover to AXA’s current higher rated policy, now called AXA Plus Car Insurance, which has also been enhanced with £1,500 of cover for personal belongings, up from £300.

The new policy provides a cheaper alternative for many drivers who have changed their driving habits as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with fewer people driving to work and a reduction in miles being driven overall.

Jo Lloyd, retail customer and propositions director at AXA UK, commented: “We always want to provide our customers with more choice to suit their individual circumstances and hope that this new product will appeal to those who are looking to benefit from an AXA motor policy at a reduced cost.”

“The new offering will continue to provide some of those things that really matter to our customers, such as child car seat cover and 90-day European cover, as well as the option to upgrade to include a courtesy car. Added to this, we’ve also enhanced our existing motor product to give our customers even more value.”
