Zurich has named Frank Streidl as its next head of commercial insurance in the UK.
Streidl (pictured), who is currently UK head of energy, marine and construction, will take up the role on 1 January 2023 and replaces the retiring Rob Kuchinski.
A Zurich employee since 2010, Streidl has held a number of senior roles, including head of energy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and global head of upstream energy. The insurer called his appointment “another great example of internal talent progression”.
Commenting on his appointment, Streidl said: “I’m very proud to have the opportunity to lead such a talented group of people. In the last few years, we’ve successfully rebalanced our portfolio. I’m really looking forward to leading the commercial insurance team through the next stages of our strategy and joining the UK executive committee.”
Tim Bailey, UK chief executive officer at Zurich, commented: “It’s with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Rob, as he returns to the US to be with his family and enjoy his retirement. Rob has played an instrumental role in making our commercial insurance business the success it is today.
“Zurich has an abundance of very talented individuals, one of whom is Frank and I am delighted he is joining our executive committee to help us take the business to the next level. Rob is leaving the commercial insurance business in an extremely safe pair of hands, and I look forward to working with Frank.”
Sierra Signorelli, chief executive officer of commercial insurance at Zurich, said: ‘’I am personally grateful for all that Rob has contributed to Zurich over his tenure. He has helped us to build a stronger business both in his group role and in the UK business. His commitment and passion will be missed.
“I am pleased that in Frank we are fortunate to have a strong and capable successor ready to lead one of our most important commercial insurance markets through a seamless transition.”
