Davies has appointed Edward Leighton to lead a new forensic accounting division.
The new division will work closely with Davies’s loss adjusting and claims third-party-administration (TPA) teams serving the insurance market.
Davies believes the forensic accounting division, which will provide expertise on a range of issues, including business interruption, cyber, and major and complex losses, will “drive efficiencies” across the claims process and provide additional value for insurance clients.
As head of forensic accountancy services at Davies, Leighton will be based in London and report to Russell Crewe, chief operating officer for property and niche claims.
Leighton commented: “I am looking forward to this opportunity to develop and lead the new forensic accounting division.
“Combined with our existing claims TPA and loss adjusting services, our expertise will allow us to provide accurate and timely financial evidence to secure rapid and enhanced claims resolutions for clients.”
The launch of the Davies new division follows investment in technology to enhance its claims TPA and loss adjusting services in the UK and internationally.
This technology includes drone surveying to provide fast, reliable data and the means to complete inspections virtually.
Crewe added: “Edward has an excellent track record of quantifying the accurate financial impact of large and complex losses.
“I have no doubt that his expertise within the sector will become an invaluable asset to the business and provide our clients with an excellent level of service, that minimises risks, protects assets and enables clients to make informed decisions.”
