Woodgate & Clark, one of the UK’s leading loss adjusters, has announced the appointment of Richard Wilson as director of specialist services.
With 30 years of experience as a Chartered Loss Adjuster, Wilson will oversee the company’s efforts in managing complex claims across sectors such as heritage and church properties, charities, education, private clients, subsidence, and environmental losses.
Wilson has been with Woodgate & Clark for two years, most recently serving as head of specialist services, north. His career includes five years at Quadra Claims, which Woodgate & Clark acquired in 2021, and 15 years with a major UK insurer. In his new role, Wilson will focus on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for high-net-worth and complex claims, leveraging his expertise in large-scale building and contents losses.
Graeme Fitzpatrick, operations director at Woodgate & Clark, commented, “We are delighted Richard has taken up this important role in our business. Woodgate & Clark has built its reputation on handling claims that need a high level of human empathy combined with technical excellence.
“Richard has the skills to drive our Specialist Team forward utilising his excellent project management skills to deliver superior levels of customer service, especially in highly sensitive situations,” Fitzpatrick said.
Wilson will lead a well-established Specialist Services division alongside a senior management team that includes Steve Willis (head of environmental), Martin Shore (head of specialist services south), Dave Hession (head of subsidence), and Sara Bailey (head of private clients).
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Wilson said, “This is an excellent opportunity to lead our talented team in managing complex cases that demand the highest level of diligence at every stage. These services truly distinguish Woodgate & Clark, and I’m excited to further strengthen our reputation in this field.”
Wilson takes over from James Fairbairn, who will leave the company in February 2025.
