MGAA appoints Jack Harding as new Next Gen chair 

Kajal Pankhania passes the torch on to Jack Harding, who takes over as MGAA Next Gen Chair

The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has named Jack Harding, senior underwriter at Miramar Underwriting Limited, as the new chair of its Next Gen Committee. 

Harding (pictured) takes over from Kajal Pankhania, director at MGA incubator DA Strategy, following a competitive selection process in January 2025.  

The MGAA Next Gen Committee supports young professionals in the MGA industry by providing training, education, networking, and industry insights. It is part of the MGAA, which represents 233 full members with a gross written premium of £13.2 bn. 

Who is Jack Harding, the new chair? 

Harding, who has been a member of the MGAA Next Gen Committee for over three years, brings a wealth of experience in underwriting and insurance operations. With over five years at Miramar Underwriting Limited, he has managed a diverse portfolio of delegated authorities worked on projects shaping the future of the industry. 

Commenting on his appointment, Harding emphasised the importance of nurturing young talent in the industry. 

“The next generation of professionals are not just the future of the MGA sector – they are its most valuable resource today,” he said. “This initiative is critical to fostering the skills, networks, and opportunities that will enable young talent to thrive. I look forward to working with the committee to build on Kajal’s inspiring leadership and to champion the voices of emerging leaders across our market.”  

Building on the foundations set by Kajal Pankhania 

Outgoing Chair Kajal Pankhania said, “Over the past two and a half years … we’ve built strong foundations for MGAA Next Gen. I am really excited and proud to see Jack and the rest of the committee continue to build on these foundations and continue to insire and empower the next generation of talent.” 

Mike Keating, CEO of the MGAA, said, “Under Kajal’s outstanding leadership, the [MGAA Next Gen group] has become a vibrant hub of activity, setting standards and fostering best practices that will benefit the industry for years to come.
