Brokers call for greater digital accessibility in commercial motor sector

Direct Commercial Limited’s (DCL) latest Broker Barometer reveals a clear demand for improved digital tools and platform integration among the wider insurance provision for the commercial motor sector.

Only 22% of brokers believe insurers are adequately making their products available on effective platforms like Acturis, while 78% see access to e-trade products via their software provider as a significant advantage in placing business.
The findings also reveal that 44% of brokers prioritise quick and easy access to markets over price when using platforms such as Acturis.
Despite the growing reliance on digital tools, only 16% of brokers found online portals across the market provided by insurers to be user-friendly and effective for managing policies and claims.

Michael Dickinson, head of schemes at direct commercial, commented, “These results underline the importance of improving digital accessibility and usability in the commercial motor insurance market. Brokers need tools that save time and streamline processes, and at DCL, we are committed to investing in technology that enhances broker experience and efficiency. By integrating our products with the platforms brokers rely on most, we aim to simplify access and deliver market-leading service.”
