Kayna, Willis and Markel partner with Equine MediRecord to launch embedded equine insurance solution

Kayna, the award-winning embedded insurance infrastructure platform, has teamed with Willis (NASDAQ: WTW) to provide an online insurance offering through Equine MediRecord (EMR), a leading vertical SaaS platform in equine digital health software and part of Canada-based Inova Group’s Business Infusions – the largest equine veterinary software group in the world.

EMR simplifies compliance with animal welfare and anti-doping regulations through the only regulator-approved digital medicines register. It was the first software system approved by an equine regulatory body to meet stringent reporting requirements and is now used by some of the top horse organisations and equine regulators across Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Hong Kong, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Kayna partnered with Willis Affinity in 2024 to deliver the technology and data infrastructure connecting vertical SaaS platforms, insurers and brokers. The London-based Willis specialist team will broker the new insurance offering.

The partnership also brings A-rated global specialty insurer Markel (NYSE: MKL) into the collaboration. Markel Insurance – the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc, a Fortune 500 company – will use Kayna’s low-code technology to distribute an equine mortality solution via the EMR platform. The embedded product will launch with EMR’s UK client base, which includes large stud farms and individual horse owners in the multi-billion-euro equine industry.

Kayna’s infrastructure helps vertical SaaS providers drive growth by enabling data-led, relevant and tailored insurance offerings delivered directly to platform customers.
