Cover-More Europe, under its AnnualTravelInsurance.com brand in Ireland, has introduced a parametric flight delay benefit powered by Blink Parametric, a global leader in real-time InsurTech assistance. This marks Cover-More Europe’s first parametric product to go live, a major milestone for both companies.
With this new offering, once a customer registers their flight in advance, any delay of three hours or more will trigger an automatic benefit: a VIP airport lounge pass or a €30 instant cash payout, delivered in real-time.
The new benefit is available to all customers with Super or Super Plus travel insurance policies on AnnualTravelInsurance.com, for both single-trip and annual multi-trip plans. By simply registering their flight before departure, travellers are covered automatically, Blink Parametric’s platform monitors flight data globally. If a qualifying delay occurs, travellers receive instant notification and can choose their preferred resolution, with no paperwork, no manual claim submission, and no waiting. It’s seamless support, right when it’s needed most.
This new benefit aims to make travel disruptions easier and faster to manage, offering clear options and real-time solutions. It reflects Cover-More Europe’s commitment to practical innovation and improving satisfaction for Irish travellers.
Jason Whelan, Managing Director of Cover-More Europe, Ireland, commented:
“I’m delighted we can now offer AnnualTravelInsurance.com customers a real-time benefit if their journey is disrupted by a flight delay. Having travel insurance already gives peace of mind, but being able to provide instant support like a lounge pass or cash payout right when it’s needed makes a real difference. It’s great to bring this level of convenience and reassurance to our customers”
Richard Pollard, Director of Strategic Accounts at Blink Parametric, said:
“We’re delighted to collaborate with Cover-More Europe on their first parametric launch. Uniting two forward-thinking organisations, this initiative is driven by a shared commitment to redefining the travel insurance experience. Delivering immediate, automated resolutions during flight disruptions not only enhances customer satisfaction but also showcases how real-time technology can transform claims handling and service delivery in the insurance sector.”
