Hudgell Solicitors has appointed clinical negligence specialist Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp to head up the firm’s London office.
Rhodes-Kemp is a specialist in tackling complex cerebral palsy cases, claims involving children, failures in care of the elderly and spinal injury cases. She is a highly sought-after expert in claimant clinical negligence, with a track record of leading legal teams, implementing change and restructuring departments.
She has also taken a particular interest in representing families at Inquests, leading to her recent appointment as assistant coroner at Oxford. She worked as a nurse for six years before entering the legal profession.
Neil Hudgell, the managing director of Hudgell Solicitors, which has its headquarters in Hull and offices in Leeds and London, said that Rhodes-Kemp has vast experience in building and heading highly successful departments which “deliver superb results”.
“It has always been our vision to expand our London operation having moved into the capital two years ago, and with Rosamund now at the helm, leading our highly-skilled and experienced team, we are confident of meeting those goals,” he said.
Rhodes-Kemp said that the “fantastic skills and expertise” at the company will ensure the firm increases its presence and profile in the capital.
She said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me. The ambition of the firm is very clear, and it is refreshing and exciting to be joining a firm which is investing ambitiously in growing its clinical negligence department, particularly in London, whilst many others have reduced their focus on this important area in recent years.
“There is such a wide range of skills in the team here, not only in clinical negligence and personal injury expertise, but also in representing families at Inquests and handling cases of abuse. That makes it so much easier when looking to develop, expand and grow,” she added.
