Horwich Farrelly has announced that it is to take on an additional 15 trainees. The recruitment drive brings the firm’s total number of employees on training contracts, split between its Manchester, Liverpool, London, Southampton and Cardiff offices, to 35.
The firm says that it is one of the only practices operating in the insurance sector to exclusively offer training contracts to existing employees. As applicants have already gained significant experience in managing caseloads and taking cases to trial, Horwich Farrelly says that it can accelerate the training programme from the standard two year period to just 18 months.
Philip O’Hagan, the firm’s managing partner, said that it was very important for Horwich Farrelly to be able to nurture talent from within the business, helping it to meet the demands of a growing client base as well as build a strong foundation for future expansion.
“Our training scheme underpins our policy of growing our own and sits alongside our highly successful apprentice scheme, which offers excellent opportunities to those who have perhaps not previously considered a legal career,” he said.
Last November, Horwich Farrelly appointed a team of 43 from Parabis taking the total number of employees to a record 660.
